The Gainesville Athletic Club is one of Gainesville City School's primary sources of fundraising for middle and high school athletics; through membership, sponsorship, and sales.

The GAC provides an opportunity for parents, coaches, teachers, alumni, and community members to come together and give current Red Elephant student-athletes everything they need to enjoy the most enriching high school experience possible.

For the 2025-2026 school year, the GAC provided more than $120,000 to both Gainesville Middle and Gainesville High schools' athletic programs.

Those funds went towards buying uniforms, equipment, updating facilities, and much more.

The programs offered at both the middle and high school levels serve our young people in capacities that go far beyond final scores, trophies won, or banners hung. While the latter three items mentioned are spoken and attainable goals for each of our programs, Red Elephant athletics has always been about a greater purpose, largely because of the support given by the Gainesville community. That support, from generation to generation, Red Elephant to Red Elephant, ensures Gainesville athletics maintains its tradition of excellence and remains a force to be reckoned with.

LETTER FROM ATHLETIC DIRECTOR ADAM LINDSEY

To our herd:

It is my hope that this email finds you and your family safe and well.

As we look toward the upcoming sports seasons, I want to celebrate a historic year of Red Elephant athletics. Last season, our student athletes and coaches brought to our community, student body, and school system the kind of indelible memories synonymous with Gainesville's rich past. Football made an unforgettable run to the state championship game; boys basketball went 30-1, capturing the Region 7-5A title en route to a state semifinals appearance; and baseball won its first region championship in a decade. Girls wrestling captured its third-straight area championship, flag football won area in its inaugural season, and boys soccer fought its way to the state semis.

We also celebrated individual state championships, each historic in their own right: Sincere Cleveland's state gold in the 100 meters made her the first female sprinter to win at that level in GHS track and field history. Cleveland also anchored the girls 4X200 relay team to a gold medal, making even more Gainesville history as the foursome became the first female relay team to earn a state title. Freshman Addison Peeples, daughter of four-time state champion golfer Kingsley (Barrett) Peeples, built on her family's Red Elephant legacy by besting the field en route to low-medalist honors and a state title.

We were also excited this past year to boast a record 36 college athletic signees out of the Class of 2026.

The bar is set high as we move into a highly competitive new region (7-6A) where we'll be facing Alpharetta, Riverwood, Milton, Roswell, Johns Creek, and Lanier. To match this step up in competition, our facility upgrades continue with the highly anticipated renovations to history Ivey-Watson Field, which will be ready for the 2027 baseball season.

To maintain this championship momentum, we need you to join the Gainesville Athletic Club. Within the Gainesville City School System, we operate vertical 6th- through 12th-grade athletic programs, meaning your GAC membership directly impacts and supports our top-to-bottom development from the start of our Red Elephants' middle school years all the way to the end of their high school days. The GAC is our primary fundraising engine, bridging the gap to provide a first-class experience for our student-athletes by pouring over $120,000 annually directly back into our programs; providing uniforms, elite safety equipment, and facility upgrades.

You membership ensures we remain the force to be reckoned with Big Red has always been. Please join quickly and easily by clicking the graphic above. Thank you for continuing Gainesville's proud tradition of excellence. For questions, don't hesitate to contact me at adam.lindsey@gcssk12.net or 404-867-3594.
