66TH ANNUAL LANIERLAND BASKETBALL TOURNAMENT

PRESENTED BY JACKSON EMC

The Lanierland Basketball Tournament was founded in 1960 by C.W. Davis, who served as principal of the now-defunct South Hall High School at the time, as a way for the then four Hall County teams - Gainesville, East Hall, North Hall, and South Hall - to participate in a competitive holiday tournament without schools, teams, or families bearing the brunt of expenses associated with extensive travel.

Six decades later, Lanierland is the longest-running invitational basketball tournament in Georgia and while the foundation remains the same, the number of teams and sizes of the crowds watching has changed exponentially.

This year's version of Lanierland will be played over three days at three different high schools: Cherokee Bluff will host on Day 1 (Saturday, Dec. 20), West Hall will host the semifinals (Monday, Dec. 22), and Chestatee (Tuesday, Dec. 23) will serve as finals' host. For information on both the first and final day sites, including links for ticket purchasing and ways to watch the action via stream, scroll below the brackets.

The Gainesville girls, who come into the tournament at 3-3 overall, will play the first game of the tournament against East Hall at 9:00 a.m. Saturday. The Red Elephant boys, who are undefeated on the year at 10-0 and ranked No. 1 in Class 5A, will take on North Hall at 1:30 p.m.
