GAINESVILLE - Twenty Gainesville High School student athletes signed to play at the next level this week, wrapping up a year in which an unprecedented 34 Red Elephants committed to be college athletes.

On Wednesday and Thursday athletes from lacrosse, wrestling, football, baseball, basketball, track and field, cross country, and soccer were part of two signing-day events, both held in the Media Room of the Student Activities Center on the campus of Gainesville High School.

Elijah Watson (football) - Albany State
Blaine Trocheck (football) - Berry

Brody Stafford (football) - Brevard
Brooklyn Phillips (track and field) - Brenau
Jeny Graciano (cross country) - Reinhardt
Theresa Baldwin (soccer) - Young Harris
Hanson Arrey (soccer) - Reinhardt
Marquise Rangel (soccer) - Upper Iowa University
Kevin White (basketball) - Young Harris
Bryce Jackson (basketball) - Co-Lin Community College
Brandon Nelson (basketball) - Cleveland State CC
Aquila Broders (flag football) - Wesleyan College
Jaelyn Barrett (flag football) - Wesleyan College

The aforementioned join 14 others who were recognized at signing days held earlier this year, they include: Brea Gibbons (soccer) University of Miami, Taylor Reid (volleyball) - University of Louisiana-Monroe, Charlie Gersmehl (basketball) - Belmont University, Quintin Mansfield (basketball) - UNC-Asheville, Krew Moledor (football) - Georgia Tech, Xavier Griffin (football) - Alabama, Cameron James (football) - Furman, Kadin Fossung (football) - Tulsa, Jamarion Matthews (football) - Alabama, Ayden Cain (football) - Duke, Clare Gaddy (cheerleading) - Georgia State College and University, Philip Williams (football) - Murray State, Tydrick Turner (football) - Maryville, and Olivia Casper (cheerleading) - Piedmont.
