OAKWOOD - Sparked by six players with three or more RBIs, Gainesville softball stomped the West Hall Spartans on the road Thursday 21-8 (6 inn.).
Sophomores Mayleigh Gonzalez and Whitlyn Terrell led the way for Big Red (6-5) as Gonzalez went 5-for-5 from the plate with four singles, a double, and three RBIs; and Terrell had four hits in five at bats with two doubles and three RBIs.
Senior Finley O'Callaghan and freshman Mariam Trocheck had three hits each - all of O'Callaghan's were doubles - and combined for seven RBIs. Sophomores Nashya Barnett and Judea Hawks finished the night with three RBIs each with Hawks going 2-for-3 with a triple.
Junior Maya Silva picked up the complete-game win, her sixth of the season.
