GAINESVILLE - With the future of the program in attendance celebrating this season's youth night, Red Elephant volleyball picked the perfect time and setting to show its potential for dominance.
Led by 11 kills from senior Louisiana-Monroe commit Taylor Reid and 27 assists from junior Prentice McGarvey, Big Red stomped Chattahoochee 3-0 (25-12, 25-13, 25-11) to move to 16-9 overall in 2025, 3-1 in Region 7-5A play.
Senior Kyndall Butler contributed 10 kills for GHS in its win and junior Jaylah Mintz had five. Lily Grace Clay led the team in digs with 19.
GHS currently sits in third in the region standings with two 7-5A matches left on the schedule; the first against second-place Johns Creek at home on Sept. 23, the second on the road at fourth-place Seckinger on Sept. 30.
Red Elephant volleyball returns to action Saturday in the program's annual Big Red Rally held at the Student Activities Center on the campus of Gainesville High School. Play will begin at 9:00 a.m.
