Gainesville volleyball started the 2024 season in winning fashion beat Lumpkin County in straight sets, 25-11, 25-23.

Leading the way for the Red Elephants was senior Avery Lindsey (pictured), who had 23 assists and four aces.

Fellow Class of 2024 member Kyndall Butler added eight kills, seven digs, and three aces for GHS while sophomore Prentice McGarvey had nine digs and four aces.

Gainesville is on the road for the next four matches, beginning Thursday at North Forsyth where they'll play a tri-match with the Raiders and East Forsyth.

Big Red's next home match, Aug. 20 against Roswell, is also Gainesville's first play in its new region (5-7A).
