Gainesville volleyball, fresh off their second-place finish in the Hall County Tournament on Saturday, returned to Area 7-5A play Tuesday with a straight-set win over Chattahoochee (25-20, 25-10, 25-16).

With the win, the Red Elephants (17-10, 2-1) remained tied for third place in the region standings with Seckinger, which they play Oct. 1.

Taylor Reid led the way for Gainesville with eight kills, four digs, and two aces. Avery Lindsey had 28 assists, 13 digs, three kills and one ace while Lily Clay (pictured) contributed 15 digs, and Eliza Norton had six kills and seven digs.

Big Red returns to action Sept. 24 at Johns Creek.
