After celebrating the Class of 2025 for band, cheerleading, cross country, football, and JROTC as part of senior night festivities; Gainesville football celebrated a 41-0 win over Seckinger on Bobby Gruhn Field at City Park.

With the win, Gainesville (6-1, 3-0) stayed unbeaten in Region 7-5A play.

Big Red's defense was the common dominator throughout the game, holding Seckinger's Wing-T attack to just 115 yards rushing, allowing only 2.8 yards per rush attempt. For the third time this season Gainesville's defense held an opponent to fewer than 50 yards passing, and while doing so the unit amassed two sacks, seven tackles for loss, one fumble recovery, and one blocked field goal. The Red Elephants are currently giving up 9.8 points per game, an average skewed mightily by the 45 points given up to Carrollton.

The quarter-by-quarter score for the Red Elephants offense was bookended by a slow start and then running clock as Gainesville put up 27 and 14 points in the second and third quarters respectively.

Leading the way was sophomore quarterback Kharim Hughley who went 9-of-15 passing for 199 yards and four touchdowns. Jeremiah Ware had just 76 total yards but scored three touchdowns, two receiving and one rushing. Taz Smith and Carmelo Byrd, who had just four rushing attempts for Gainesville but averaged 18.3 yards per carry, also had receiving touchdowns for Gainesville while Tre Brown added a rushing score.

The Red Elephants host Class 5A's No. 1-ranked Milton on Friday in arguably the most anticipated game of the season. Milton is undefeated this season and beat Lanier 49-7 Friday night.
