ATLANTA - A week of thanksgiving and rest concluded over the weekend with Red Elephant boys basketball earning a 1-1 record in the Hard in the Paint Classic at Maynard Jackson.

On Friday KJ White scored 14 points, dished out six assists and grabbed five rebounds in a losing effort against McEachern.

Saturday, White once again led the way with 15 points and nine assists for Big Red but this time in a big 64-53 win over Westlake. Helping the Red Elephants to their second stomp of the year was Caden Jackson with 14 points and Charlie Gersmehl with 13 points and eight rebounds. Senior Jaxson Jones added eight points and six boards for Gainesville while sophomore Luke Nordholz chipped in six points.

Region play for Big Red hoops begins Tuesday at Johns Creek and continues at home Friday versus Chattahoochee; girls at 6 and boys at 7:30 both nights.
